Hi my name is Fede, I'm 37 years old and my pronouns are she/her - seems like a good way to start an introduction!

I am a proud cat mumma myself, so I am very familiar with the struggles of finding a reliable person who can be entrusted with our pets, therefore I am here to offer my services to anyone who might need them.

I deeply love and respect all living creatures (so much so that I have recently joined WIRES as a volunteer), although I always felt slightly obsessed with cats :D

I adopted Fried Rice when he was a kitten, and now he's a gorgeous 7 and a half years old, super fluffy, happy cat.
Fried Rice came from a pound so, as it is unfortunately common, he contracted herpes virus - which is a chronic illness; his immune system is not very strong and he gets unwell somewhat often.
Because of his health conditions, I have learnt to recognise the early signs of an unhealthy cat, I know how to watch out for dangerous issues such as urinary blockage or poisoning, I am comfortable administering oral and topic medications, I am very familiar with managing herpes virus flares-up and I have an updated list of all the Inner West and surrounding areas after-hours and at-home vets.

From 2020 to 2022 a friend's cat, Mochi, has lived with us. It took quite some time and a Cat Behaviour Specialist for Fried Rice and Mochi to learn to live together and tolerate one another, which has been an interesting learning experience for myself too. I now know how to observe the subtle changes in behaviour, I understand how important it is to provide a stable, enriched environment, and lots of love and companionship - respecting each cat's boundaries!

Prior to joining Pawshake, I have cat sitted my sister's cats and some friend's cats at their own houses; I have also volunteered in a cattery in northern Sydney for about 1 year. I am available for overnight stays as my partner can take care of Fried Rice if I am not home.

As a main job, I have been working as a disability support worker for the past 5 years, working into my clients' houses. I am very trustworthy and can provide plenty of references; I can also provide a current Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check. 

Just so it happens that all of my clients have dogs - family dogs, companion dogs or assistance dogs - which I get to spend a lot of time with. I regularly walk them, feed them, brush them, play with them, transport them and have even administered oral medications.
I am not able to provide doggy day care at my house because that would be too stressful for Fried Rice, but I definitely feel comfortable in providing care for your dog in your house.

Every pet is unique and will have their unique personality, preferences, habits, quirks and needs. Please provide me with as much information about your pet as you feel it's relevant, so that I can care for them in the best possible way.

And rest assured you will received plenty of photos and videos of your furry companions!
