Hi hey my names Violet ✌️
I'm a stay at home homeschooling mum to two kiddos aged 9 and 12. I study and work part time from home. We share our lovely home with an adorable smoochy rag doll cat named Luna who is extremely friendly and as you will see from the photos above, very used to dogs. She loves to snuggle up with all of our furry guests. We enjoy living the coastal lifestyle here on the Sunshine Coast.
I have been pet sitting for about 4 years now as I truly find it enjoyable combining my passion for animals and my love for meeting lots of new people. Our home is big, welcoming and very cosy. We all absolutely love animals and have a blast with them when they come to stay with us. We lost our beloved 14 year old Shih Tzu named Buddy during the pandemic and pet sitting has been a lovely way to enjoy some furry company. We usually always have someone at home which makes minding pets easier in case of needing regular toileting etc. We have tiled floors, air-conditioning, cooling pads for the summer, plus 2 living areas so lots of cosy places to find somewhere nice to snuggle up. We aren't precious about them laying on furniture or our laps if they like, however we will respect and follow whatever rules you follow at home to remain consistent so they don't pick up bad habits during their stay. I change water twice daily, take them for a walk each morning plus give lots of cuddles and attention and there is always access outside throughout the day for loo breaks.
We live across the road from a couple of large parks and several minutes from a fully enclosed dog park which is perfect for daily walks or to throw around a ball if they are able to go off lead. We sometimes take them to the beach to toss around a ball or stick as well if we get permission from you before their stay. At home we have a medium sized backyard to throw around a ball for playtime with very high fences and are only 15-20 minutes from an emergency 24 hour vet for extra peace of mind.
During your pets stay I take photos and send you regular updates while you are away so that you can rest assured that your fur baby is happy and having a great time while you're away. I will usually be in touch the day prior to booking commencement to arrange a drop off or collection time and usually have all of their things washed and ready to go home at the end of their stay to make pickups fast and smooth as most families are tired from travelling and just want to get home. I normally only book one furry guest at a time, however, if I receive permission from owners for a play buddy I'll sometimes take an extra booking from my regular clients as well and this works out great for owners wanting their pets to have some social time.
Another option for pet care that I do often if you have elderly dogs or ones that prefer to stay in the comfort of their own home while you're away is I can come to you! I can come by feed, toilet, top up water and play with your pet in your own home. I can swing by mornings only or twice daily in the morning and evening for this. This can make bookings much easier to arrange with no need for a meet and greet prior.
We would prefer small to medium sized dogs to stay ideally although a calm or older large dog would be a good fit for our family as well. We do ask that your dog be toilet trained please and have no separation anxiety. We can do pick up and/or drop off locally if you can’t manage it.
If you think I'd be a good match to look after and love on your furry little friend while you're away then please drop me a message and we can arrange a meet and greet and if everyones happy then we can get you booked in!
-----Important Info-----
All pets that come to stay must be okay with a cat, be up to date with vaccination and flea and worming treatments to make it a safe space for all to stay. I don't accept bookings without a meet and greet prior unless owners are from out of state in which case we'll chat over the phone or FaceTime instead. It's also preferable to have desexed pets only. I find undesexed males seem to have many problems with marking around the house. Let us know if yours doesn't have this issue and we may be able to arrange something. We cannot have dogs with extreme separation anxiety stay as my husband works nightshift and sleeps during the day so we can't have constant whining or barking during the daytime in case I have to pop out. I often take long bookings of a few weeks to a couple months and can offer a discounted rate for this so please just get in touch with me to discuss. Long booking stays longer than 14 days will require a trial stay prior to booking for any NEW clients unless the owners are from out of state. This one night stay ensures your pet gets used to myself and my family prior to their long stay and gives me an opportunity to be sure they're a good fit for a long stay period. This can simply be a day stay or a one night stay booked with me at a much reduced rate on a suitable day prior to your booking commencement. This ensures your pets stay is a smooth one and reduces their anxiety while you're away giving them time to get used to myself and my family and to their new environment while you're gone.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Very happy, in very trustworthy and capable hands while l was away thank uou violet
I’m always so happy when Violet is available to look after Ralph - I know he is safe and loved and spoilt like he is at home with us. I love the little updates and it makes travelling so much easier when I’m able to have him picked up and dropped off. A massive thank you ☺️
