I have had pets my entire life and am currently a dog mom to Hunter, a beautiful and evenly tempered 9 year old adopted ex-racing greyhound. 

While I have experience with birds, cats, rabbits and smaller dog breeds, I am currently prioritising the care of greys as I understand the unique needs of hounds that are new to being pets and who may need some extra patience and encouragement. I have fostered greyhounds with all different personalities and needs: from the clumsy and goofy to the fearful and reactive, and have helped them to successfully transition into home life. In addition to fostering, I also have experience in short-term boarding and pet-sitting.

I'm registered with Gap as a foster carer and have been trained in settling and socialising foster dogs, specifically retired racing greyhounds who need to be taught how to be a pet. As well this, I have extensive dog handling, walking & training experience with a large variety of breeds inclusive of reactive dog training both from scratch and with reinforcement training.

I adore animals of all kinds, and my own dog is well socialised and trained with other dogs.  Although she is a "mature aged" canine and so doesn't play as much as she once did.

I strongly believe that it's important to maintain as much routine as possible to ease dogs into new and uncertain situations and therefore would aim to adhere to any diet and training regimes that a dog in my care has, in order to maintain this sense of routine.

I currently work from home 2 days a week and also work in a dog friendly office the other 3, with plenty of flexibility afforded to me around this. As I have the space and the time to invest in other people's dogs, I have decided to open my home and my services to those pups in need of a safe place to roam, where all current and previous training and diet regimes are considered and reinforced.

Please note, the property also has several options to seperate my own dog and any visiting dogs if the need arises. I am unable to have more than 2 dogs boarding or in daycare at one time unless all dogs have been fully vetted and tested with each other to ensure compatibility.

Options to house/pet-sit at your house are available upon discussion and within a 10km radius.

I am located in Glenroy (near Jacana station) 15 minutes from Tullamarine airport. The option to leave your vehicle on my property while you travel with your dog in my care is also there if arranged prior.

I tend to send a few photo and behavioural updates during every stay - just let me know if you wish for there to be less or more communication while you're away :)

Administration of oral/topical medication (if required)

1-2 walks

Play time and other enrichment activities

and of course, lots of love and cuddles!

However, I also understand that some of our furry friends require more personal space than others, and I will always respect your pet's boundaries. 

After an initial meet and greet to ensure your pet gets along well with mine, during which we can discuss specific requirements, I will work with your schedule to arrange drop off & pick up times. 

Through my time fostering, I have worked with behaviouralists to rehabilitate retired racing hounds with "behavioural problems", such as resource guarding and sleep startle, taking a consent-based positive reinforcement approach. Speak to me about this if you have any concerns or wish to address something specific whilst your pet is in my care.
