About Kat
I love all animals with my entire soul, and I will definitely treat your pets like family. I've been working as a dog-sitter, dog-walker and cat-sitter for the past 10 years (for many months, even, as a dog au pair!) Before that, I was a deeply devoted dog- and cat-owner myself. I started pet-sitting and dog walking after my best friend, Alice the Sheltie mix, passed away. Now it's how I get my pet fix!
My background is in zoology and I work in wildlife rescue in my second job. I have happily devoted my life to caring for animals! I love both of my jobs dearly, and I love that they give me the opportunity to care for animals and pets of all kinds.
I enjoy bushwalking, so wherever possible, I enjoy taking dogs out into any natural area - like the beach, large parks, lakes, rivers and creeks - for long walks. I will gladly accept the challenge of a high-energy pup! And if your dog likes to snuggle instead, bring on the fur!! :)
I've had cats for most of my life and frequently care for them as a pet-sitter. I have a great deal of appreciation for the level of care that goes in to looking after a cat and ensuring they are happy while their parents are away; I will gladly play and cuddle all day with your furry feline friends.
I also have plenty of experience caring for birds, fish, small mammals and reptiles both as a petsitter and in wildlife conservation. I know just how important it is to meet their specific needs and fully understand the level of attention and gentleness they require!
Service details:
Overnight bookings include anything you and your pets need! I do have another casual job working in wildlife rescue, but the longest I would be away from an overnight booking is usually no more than 8 hours once a week (if at all). Dog walks are included, as well as plenty of playtime and cuddles! Regular cleaning of litter trays and outdoor areas is included. I will always stick to your pets' normal feeding, grooming and training routines. For these bookings, I devote all of my available time to caring for your pets!
Dog walks are included in all overnight bookings, but not in drop-in visits. I'm happy to be flexible regarding walk length and can usually devote 30-60 minutes or more, depending on your dog's normal routine and needs.
For drop-in visits, I generally allow for 45-60 minutes for each visit, but can be flexible depending on your pets' needs. Generally, most of my drop-in visits are for cats, birds and other small pets, as I cannot accept drop-in bookings for indoor dogs unless someone else will be staying with them overnight. This means visits include feeding, changing water dishes, playing and snuggling with your pet, as well as cleaning litter trays and/or outdoor areas.
I cannot host pets at my house, so I don't provide boarding or daycare services.
I am a respectful and caring nonsmoker, and I will always leave your house sparkling at the end of your booking!
I've completed the official Australian Government Infection Control Training for COVID-19 and I'm fully vaccinated (including boosters every 6 months).
