Med Student/Animal Lover: Compassionate Care for your Pets!

About Michaela
I am a medical student who has recently moved from Canada to Australia, meaning I had to leave my family pets in the care of my parents while I'm away studying. During my time here, I would love nothing more than to care for other people's pets and give them all the love that I can't give to my own right now.
In addition to growing up with cats and dogs, I began caring for other families pets when I was only 12 years old. Since then, I have consistently been asked to pet sit for family friends, and I had my own business on the Rover app back in Canada. I have spent a number of weeks proving in house dog or cat sitting, I have countless hours of dog walking experience, and also provided drop in visits. I have watched senior dogs with various conditions such as diabetes, blindness, digestive issues, and separation anxiety. I also have experience administering insulin, inhalers, and other medications to animals. No matter what your pets needs are, I will treat them with the utmost compassion and make their comfort my priority.
My Home: Since I currently don't have any pets of my own in Australia, I am comfortable having unvaccinated pets in my home. I currently live in a 3 bedroom house with a large backyard that is fully fenced in. I have lots of space to accommodate larger animals, and would love to have a walking companion to explore nearby walking trails with. I live with my fiancé who is a fellow pet lover and also happens to work from home- between the two of us there could always be someone home to spend time with your pet and ensure they are not left alone for more than an hour at a time. I have plenty of extra space for toys, beds, litter boxes, etc. and am comfortable with pets sleeping in my bed if that's what they are used to.
Dog Walking: My walks are typically an hour long but I'm happy to adjust based on the needs of your pet. I can provide 1-3 walks per day (morning, lunch time and evening).
Home Visits: I am happy to travel to your home to drop in on your pet and spend quality time with them. The lengths of these visits are usually 1-2 hours but I am flexible depending on your needs. I am also happy to help with other house sitting duties such as taking in mail, watering plants, etc. I also provide overnight services where I can stay over at your house if you are away.
Medications: As a medical student I am comfortable administering medications, and have previous experience administering tablets, inhalers, and insulin injections to pets.
Availability: A large portion of my school is currently online, and my school campus is only 5 minutes away meaning I can come home over lunch and between classes. I wake up early and would be able to complete dog walking and other pet care duties before class, and will not accept a job in the off chance that my schedule will prohibit me from spending quality time with your pet.
