About Mary
Hi, my name's Mary and I love fluffy animals, all animals really but I especially love the fluffy ones (my brothers axolotyl being one of my least favourite pets to look after, though still interesting/gross in it's own way). I've come on Pawshake to make a bit of extra cash in the holidays. I work as a relief teacher but miss having animals around, so I will happily look after yours in leui of my own!
In Hobart I've had experience house sitting and looking after 2 cats and a dog in a house I was house sitting and my in laws dog, Inca, who is quite old. As well as a few customers from Pawshake, whose animals I may have fed and petted for a few days.
On my travels I've cared for animals in :
Sweden :
while my friend was at work I looked after and walked her two very athletic dogs and cat and looked after/cleaned out the chincihillas.
NZ
: for over a year I worked as a caretaker at an animal sanctuary in Otaki. There I looked after pigs, goats, sheep as well as two dogs and 5 cats, ponies, lots of roosters, cows. They have rabbits there too now, which I'm quite upset about because rabbits are my secret favourite and I would have loved to have spent more time with them. I would have to feed them, help while they had hooves trimmed, assist with worming tablets, on occasion give injections, call the vet if something was wrong, as well as various other non animal related tasks, eg weed maintenance, gardening, fencing etc.
UK : looked after guinea pigs, rabbits, rats and hamsters, this was in my family home, I have cared for rabbits for a significant part of my life, I have learned many things since a child and I would do many things differently now with regards to my rabbit care, relating to size of cages, number of rabbits etc.
