I was an animal shelter volunteer for 8 months at a shelter in Singapore and am an animal welfare enthusiast. You can be sure that I will treat your pet and family with utmost respect and care.
At the shelter, volunteers are trained over 2 weekends on how to walk, leash, bathe, feed and overall handling of dogs. As such, i have had experience of handling dogs of varying sizes.
Right now I have availability on the weekends to dogsit if you need the 2 days to getaway. 
I have dog-sat for my neighbours and friends. My references:  My ex neighbour had full trust and faith in my dog-sitting abilities and even passed me a key for safekeeping! I am able to provide references from 2 dog owners- one is my ex-neighbour and the other is a friend, both for whom i have dog-sat (Harley) and house-sat (Lucky) for.
