*** 14/02/23 - Hello, and thank you for checking out my profile. All services are available again. Please read below for inquiries, and contact me any time. Thank you.*
* Distance Requests: Please read my T&C's at the bottom. While I do accommodate distance requests, they do incur an extra charge due to the increasing expenses in servicing distant areas. This is why I have a general limit of 8kms travel. Distance requests greater than 8kms distance may be charged up to $2/km over 8kms per day or trip, variable on distance and travel requirements.*
Brendan ***
I have been pet sitting full time, and working with animals for over 10 years now. I routinely discuss dog behaviour, training and psychology with my clients, with the aim of helping their pets with long term goals and growth, more than looking at my job as just pet care. I also enjoy lounging around with affectionate cats, when they want some company. I have previously volunteered with the RSPCA just to spend time with, and help out, animals, where I took care of cleaning, feeding, grooming and walking the refuge's cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens, and also did photography for the refuge's website. I enjoy being physical outdoors, hiking, bush walking and light jogging, especially with a dog. We have adopted a stray kitten, so home boarding is generally limited to CATS. I'm keen to meet all of your pets and help with exercise, training, caring for your animals, and offering you peace of mind while you're away. I look forward to meeting with you and your animal family.
PLEASE NOTE (General TERMS and CONDITIONS)
- Home Boarding is no longer offered.
House Sitting is generally preferred and recommended for dogs.
- Generally, I limit my area to 8kms of my home in Sunshine West. Requests from further than 8kms will incur a extra fee of up to $2/km over 8kms per day or trip to cover the extra expenses in servicing your area. Thank you for understanding.
- Initial "Meet and Greet" is complimentary, as per Pawshake's general conditions, within a certain distance. Meet and greets at large distances, additional meetings, key pickup, requests for walks, or any other post-Meet-and-Greet/pre-booking may require a booking or additional charge. I may request to have a meet and greet somewhere in the middle if it is not reasonable to travel the entire way at my own expense.
- There may be an extra charge on major public holidays and over Christmas and New Years.
- Overnight house sitting is overnights, and not full 24 hour, permanent care. I am still required to leave at my discretion to provide care for other animals, or do regular daily activities.
- While day care is not available, for repeat clients, I do offer dog day care options with notice. I consider this similar to baby-sitting, where the hours requested are fixed, and the requirements limit my care to your pet only. In these cases, I charge $25/hour, minimum of 2 hours. Prices may vary based on your animal(s), request and duration, time of day/night, or distance. (REPEAT CLIENTS ONLY)
Thank you, and I look forward to meeting with you and your family!

Brendan looked after our small dog, Bella for the third time, this time for 3+ weeks at our house. Brendan is the gold standard in pet sitting experience, he sends regular updates with photos, he updates on behaviour, activities, eating and bathroom habits. He follows instructions diligently and reaches out with any queries. We felt at ease leaving her for such a long period because we were comfortable she was in good hands. During the last week she had an upset stomach and Brendan booked and took her to the vet without issue. We appreciated Brendan for allowing us to enjoy our time away knowing she was well looked after. Thank you again, Brendan!
Brendan is brilliant with our golden retriever Zoe! There are very few people I would trust but Brendan is so reliable and caring.
I have trained and socialised my family border collie (typical working/herding dog,) which has an obsession with our pet chickens, to be more relaxed around them. Instead of stalking/herding, she was able to relax and watch them (her 'job') from a distance, without becoming obsessive. She is currently staying with immediate family in QLD.
Animal photographer and kennel/cattery attendant for the RSPCA shelter animals. Carer, groomer, walker, cleaning and feeding refuge cats and dogs within RSPCA shelters. Completed PIAA Pet First Aid and CPR course (Pet Industry Association of Australia)
