About Yaninka
Hello pet owners,
I provide a service that is typically for clients with pets that need special care, including pets that have chronic medical conditions that requires medication and pets that need some form of monitoring or medical checks during a visit such as a pet with a high grade heart murmur.
I started my veterinary nursing career in a general practice clinic about ten years ago, obtaining my Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and then moving on to two emergency clinics and obtaining my Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care. I currently work in both general practice and emergency with my passion lying with emergency and critical care. It's the most rewarding experience when you have cared for a critically ill patient and having them go home to their owners after caring for them.
I have had clients that need to go on last minute trips and have pets at home with palliative care needs that are comfortable leaving their pet in my care. I have found that pets are often more comfortable in their own environment and thus I usually suggest the pet stay in their own home while the owners are away. This is however dependant on the care required for the pet.
My at home service includes a full TPR (temperature, pulse rate and respiratory rate) check during each visit which is recommended especially for pets with chronic conditions (owners are welcome to ask that this service not be performed during a visit. This will not affect the cost of the visit), feeding your pet, administering medication if needed and cleaning of water and food bowls as well as litter trays in the case of a feline pet.
I do also provide the same service for healthy pets, including exotic pets.
