I am a housesitter with decades of experience in Australia and overseas. I have profiles on various housesitting websites, but I am now living in Melbourne and prefer to offer local services to those who travel, especially for short periods of time. I can visit, walk, feed, care for a dog, or cat, other animals possibly as well. I am happy to add any other necessary services such as watering plants, putting out bins or collecting mail. I can also do basic maintenance and repair, although I am not a licensed trade person. Gardening is fine, as long as you have tools at your home. If there is any emergency maintenance while you are away I can contact your regular tradie. Happy to fix small things myself if I can.

Since the description needs to be longer I will outline my recent history of housesitting. I had traveled around Europe in 2019 for nearly 12 months, looked after cats in Vienna, Brussels, Berlin, Prague, and also dogs and sheep in Spain and on Mallorca. Assignments were typically between 2 and 6 weeks long. However, my longest time of housesitting was in Canberra when I started my job there 30 years ago. In the early 90's there were not that many housesitters and at that time I spent over 2 years in 11 different homes, looking after various animals and homes. I am only offering house- and petsitting by visiting the owner's property, not in my own home. I specialise in short stays of one to three nights as this is when people are most often stuck and do not want to keep their pet locked inside an empty house while away. During December and January I will be free for longer and can offer a week or more at the time.
