About Tyler
- I grew up with four St Bernards in a small town in central Canada (Brandy, Barney, Kiko and Hermione). Having to walk dogs daily that weighed more than me taught me to respect big animals.
- I work as a wildlife biologist on airports. Understanding wildlife and moving them away from planes to keep them safe.
- I worked as a dog handler using a dog named Pilot to disperse birds at Vancouver International Airport. I have a lot of respect for training and the different tasks a dog can perform.
- I have handled small birds for banding and birds as large and dangerous as Great Horned Owls. This was common work at one of the airports I worked at In Canada.
- I own a cat (Genghis Khan) but am more of a dog person. I really like cats but I prefer how dogs like hanging out and cats tend to "treat you mean to keep you keen".
- My full time job as a biologist is relatively flexible meaning I can spend more time with pets in the morning or afternoon before getting to my day job.
- I know walks and time outside are what some dogs wait all day for. If they're the sort of dog that loves the exercise I'm happy to run around with them to tire them out. Likewise if they're small or old and just want some time out of the home I'm happy to go slow or carry them around for a bit.
