Are you looking for someone who takes an empathetic approach to animal care? Someone ready to give your pets the time and reassurance they need while you are away?

Recently 'retired', I see pet care as a new profession. I won't be rushing. Your pet will receive responsible and responsive care from an experienced pet carer in their own home environment. They'll also be in safe hands if we are out and about for a bit of a fun, or while you are busy or out of town. 

A cat owner for much of my life I love cats and respect their style - they much prefer familiar spaces, sunny corners and the people they know. Spare your cat the stress of being locked up in external care while their favourite humans are gone. I'll go softly into your space so they can feel secure and safe at home.

While something of a cat whisperer I have cared for a wide variety of other critters. In childhood there were cats, dogs and a precious Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. Later, a carpet snake, rabbits, peacocks and poultry, as well as donkeys, sheep and goats on a farm outside Canberra. I have also helped out friends and family with pet care, taking on the full time care of my mum's sweet Scottie dog when things got too hard. 

I love walking dogs and it was a joy to get Emma out for some fun and fresh air. I'll be sure to walk your dog to suit their health and training requirements. They will get the exercise, affection and stimulation every dog needs - with lots of sniffing time, and you'll get a photo journal of their adventure!

As a long term Pawshake client I also know the value of having someone trustworthy around the place daily to keep an eye on your house, plants and veggie patch.  

My aim is to match your expectations, and those of your pet, while you attend to business or take that break away.

So that I can deliver the best service please spare a few moments to meet up.

We can go through all those little things that matter to you and help your pet feel secure. How do you communicate with them, call them for dinner, offer them special affection? Have they behavioural issues or special health needs?

We'll all do better if you can spare a few minutes for a chat and a meet and greet with your pet.

Services

I offer pet visits to cats and dogwalking for smaller to medium dogs in central Canberra and Inner North suburbs to the south of Belconnen (eg Macquarie, Aranda, Bruce). Inner south booking requests will be considered.

If your pet friends are staying home alone I will provide the care and attention they need. There will be fun, food and affection responsive to their (and your) particular requirements. I'll visit once or twice daily and provide you with daily reports, with lots of cute images. 

Unfortunately I don't offer dog sitting services and recommend this if you are leaving your dog overnight. However I would love to take your dog out for fun and fresh air if their carer can't assist or needs support.

I offer dog walking in my service area to suit your dog's recreation and health needs. I'll go the extra mile to ensure they enjoy their day. 

When visiting your pets I'll ensure your home looks lived in and attend to mail and bins. I'll fill the garden bird feeder and water the pot plants or veggie garden too.

My thirty minute visits or dog walks often last a little longer. While you are not there, I'll ensure they know you care.
